Here's a couple of pictures from our installation 'Bunsen's Pyrophone' in the John Dalton Laboratory at MMU, for the Manchester Science Festival 22nd Oct. 2010. We redeployed some of the pipes from 'Fluxweed' for the install ~ it's not really a new device, it's on the website because the Lab setting was fantastic.

This video is of the pyrophone being played by a member of the public. He was improvising on the MPC (a drum-machine/sampler), with beats, sound samples and effects accompanying the pyrophone pipes... One of many who had a right old time over the two days Playing with Fire. In a controlled and safe environment of course.

Apparently it also made the BBC evening news, though I missed it; as I was working in the lab late that night....
